Maqamat Al-Iksir Al-Ratib on some of the virtues of Muhammad Pasha Al-Raghib, Abdul Karim Al-Jara’i Study and investigation, (Part Two)

Abstract

            This maqama deals with the praise of Muhammad Pasha Al-Raghib, which is the main subject of the maqama written by Abdul Karim Al-Jara'i. It is a literary maqama whose subject is praise and commendation, in which the author of the maqama expresses what a poet expresses in his poetry of praise. Hence, praise became a main purpose of Al-Jara'i's maqama, entitled (The Regular Elixir in Praise of Muhammad Pasha Al-Raghib). Al-Jara'i wrote his maqama, which he began with a long introduction in which he began with the Basmala, praise and thanks to God Almighty, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. This introduction was the subject of our research in its first part, which was published in the seventh issue of June 2023, in the Linguistic Journal, Faculty of Languages, Al-Zaytouna University. The second section deals with the praise of Muhammad Pasha Al-Raghib, which is the main subject of the maqama written by Al-Jara'i, and it will be a continuation of our research in the first part.
