The arbitration process in the journal
The Linguistics Journal adopts a rigorous, double-blind peer review policy to ensure the quality and reliability of published research. This process aims to evaluate submitted research objectively and fairly, ensuring its adherence to scientific and ethical standards.
Steps of the arbitration process:
-
Initial Submission: Upon receipt of the manuscript, the editorial team conducts an initial review to ensure that it meets the journal's minimum editorial and formatting requirements and matches one of the journal's disciplines.
-
Originality and plagiarism check: The research is subjected to plagiarism and self-plagiarism detection software. The permissible plagiarism percentage should not exceed 25% of the total research content, to ensure the originality of the work and the researcher's contribution. If the plagiarism percentage exceeds this limit, the research is immediately rejected or the author is asked to make the necessary amendments.
-
Submitting the review: After passing the initial examination and the originality check, the research is sent to at least two referees with experience and expertise in the field of research, with the author’s identity hidden from the referees and vice versa (double-blind review).
-
Reviewer Review: Reviewers evaluate the research based on several criteria, including:
-
Originality of the idea and its scientific importance.
-
The integrity of the methodology used.
-
Clarity of presentation and organization of ideas.
-
Validity of results and discussion.
-
Commitment to linguistic and scientific standards.
-
-
Editorial Board Decision: Based on the referees' reports, the Editorial Board will make one of the following decisions:
-
Acceptance of the research without modifications: means that the research is ready for publication.
-
Accept the research with minor modifications: The author is required to make some minor modifications.
-
Accept the paper with significant revisions: Requires the author to make major changes and resubmit the paper for review.
-
Research rejection: If the research does not meet the required standards or has significant defects.
-
-
Final Review and Publication: After making the required modifications and accepting the research, the research is prepared for publication in the next issue of the journal.
This peer review process aims to enhance the quality of published research and ensure its effective contribution to enriching knowledge in the fields of languages and translation.
