Copyright Policy

The Linguistics Journal's Copyright Policy defines the relationship between the journal, authors, and users regarding the ownership and use of published content. This policy aims to strike a balance between protecting authors' rights and encouraging the widest possible access to and dissemination of scholarly knowledge.

  1. Authors retain full copyright to their works published in the Linguistic Journal. This means that the author has the exclusive right to copy, distribute, display, and perform their work, as well as to create derivative works from it.

  2. Journal Publication License: Once a manuscript is accepted for publication in a linguistics journal, the authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to first publish the work. This license is granted under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license . This license allows the journal to publish the work and make it available to the public, while ensuring that the original author is credited.

  3. Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY): Under the CC BY license, others are permitted to:

    • Share: Copy and distribute the work in any medium or form.

    • Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

    • Attribution: Provided that the work is properly attributed to the original author, a link to the license is provided, and an indication of whether any changes were made.

This policy aims to encourage maximum reuse and dissemination of scientific knowledge, while maintaining recognition of the original contributions of authors.

  4. Reuse of Published Content: Authors may reuse their work published in the Linguistics Journal for any purpose, provided that they indicate that the work was published in the Linguistics Journal. For example, authors may publish their research on their institutional repositories, personal websites, or in collections of their work (master's and doctoral theses, books, book chapters) with reference to the original publication in the journal.

  5. Author's Responsibility: Authors guarantee that the research submitted for publication is original and that they hold the necessary copyrights to publish the work. Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions to reuse copyrighted material from other sources within their research.

  6. Content Protection: Although the journal is committed to open access, it takes the necessary measures to protect published content from any copyright infringement or misuse, emphasizing the importance of citing the original source when quoting or reusing.
